BULLHEAD CITY –Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) has opened the application process for the annual $5,000 SunWatts Education Grant.
“MEC is proud to support local educators’ efforts in going the extra mile by using innovative ideas to help local youth learn sustainable concepts,” said MEC’s CEO, Tyler Carlson. “The Education Grant program is part of MEC’s commitment to our community and is funded through the Renewable Energy Standard Tariff (REST) program.
The grant’s purpose is to help educators teach about sustainability through renewable energy with a project or curriculums designed and implemented by the educator. The only requirements are that the curriculum must be based on renewable energy and include a subject outline, materials needed, supplies needed and a cost breakdown.

Interested parties should submit their information by 5 p.m. Aug. 31 to Julia Garringer, P.O.
