Bullhead City Hosts Semi-Annual Clean Up Day Event on October 19, 2024

Bullhead City, AZ — In coordination with Mohave County and the Bullhead City Fire Department, the City of Bullhead will be hosting its semi-annual “Clean Up Day” event on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., offers residents a convenient opportunity to dispose of electronic waste, household hazardous materials, and other bulky items in an environmentally responsible manner.

Event Locations and Services

The event will span two locations, each serving a specific purpose:

1. Gary Keith Park Parking Lot

This location will host:

  • Electronic recycling
  • Paper shredding
  • Bulk item drop-offs
  • Tire drop-offs (limited to 4 tires per household)
  • Aluminum can recycling

Proceeds from the aluminum can recycling will be donated to the Bullhead City Animal Resource Center. Mohave Shred will provide paper shredding services for $5 per banker-sized box, with a limit of ten boxes per household.

2. Arizona Motor Vehicles Department Parking Lot

Located at 1325 Alonas Way, this site will serve as the drop-off point for the Mohave County Hazardous Waste collection. This site will accept items such as:

  • Aerosol cans
  • Automotive fluids
  • Motor oil
  • Antifreeze
  • Batteries
  • Fertilizers
  • Household cleaners
  • Pesticides
  • And more

However, explosives, ammunition, asbestos, medical waste, and radioactive materials will not be accepted.

Accepted Items

Residents are encouraged to bring a wide array of items to the event, including:

Electronic Items

Chargers, cables, CD/DVD players, cell phones, printers, modems, routers, laptops, gaming systems, cameras, monitors, and more.

Hazardous Waste

Automotive fluids, sealed 5-gallon gas cans, household cleaners, pesticides, herbicides, fluorescent bulbs, etc.

Bulk Items

Appliances, furniture, mattresses, barbecue grills, garden tools, cabinets, electronics, computers, TVs, home décor, chairs, bedding, yard waste, sofas, loveseats, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, doors, water heaters, wooden pallets, exercise equipment, treadmills, and more.

Items Not Accepted

The city reminds participants not to bring:

  • Dead animals
  • Broken glass
  • Bags of clothes
  • Food or household waste
  • Ammunition
  • Furniture
  • Appliances with refrigerants (AC units, refrigerators, etc.)
  • Anything not specifically mentioned
