Two Hospitals United for our Tri-State Neighbors

As the leaders of Valley View Medical Center and Havasu Regional Medical Center, we were thrilled that our dedicated and hardworking staff gathered together in early December as part of a Market Leadership Development Conference. Our leadership and staff shared ways we could strengthen our teams and continue to advance the care we provide to our patients and their families.
For our hospitals, the health and well-being of our communities has always been a shared commitment. That’s why we wanted to come together to highlight our 2023 Community Benefit Reports, which we create each year to detail the steps we took to meet our mission of making communities healthier.
Meeting our mission starts with recruiting and retaining the most talented health care professionals in the nation. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome more than 200 new providers across various specialties to our facilities last year. We also recently partnered with our friends at Mohave Community College to provide leadership education and training for our teams, and both of our hospitals serve as host sites for MCC nurse externs and radiation therapy externs. We want the best health care talent across the country to see the Tri-State area as the place for them to deliver the best care possible.
To help these providers bring that kind of care to our patients, we need to ensure they have the latest technology and equipment. That’s why we invested nearly $12 million in capital improvements across our two facilities in 2023. At Havasu, that meant a new BK500 ultrasound machine for families expecting a new baby, new equipment and anesthesia machines for patients undergoing surgery, and an expansion to our Cardiac Cath Lab to help patients undergoing heart treatment. At Valley View, it meant endoscopy and surgical scope replacements, a sterilizer for surgical equipment, a new Stryker tower and power tools for joint replacement, and much more.
We know these investments in staff and equipment will pay off in better health for our community, and we are committed to supporting our neighbors in accessing the care they need whenever possible. That’s why, in 2023, our hospitals combined to provide more than $40 million in services to patients in need, including uncompensated care, charity care and uninsured discounts. And we are proud to have paid more than $26 million in taxes to support the economic health of our region.
