Residents are encouraged to stay informed about these activities, which may temporarily impact traffic and neighborhood access.

Project Highlights for the Week of October 14:

  • City Street Maintenance Program (CSMP):
Slurry sealing will take place at select intersections along the Bullhead Parkway. Due to high temperatures, work will be performed during evening hours. For a complete list of streets scheduled for slurry or microsurface treatment, visit bullheadcity.com/csmp.
  • Bullhead Parkway Median Improvements:
McCormick Construction continues installing a raised median and streetlights between Silvercreek Rd and Laredo Dr as part of a grant-funded Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP).
  • Rotary Park Dog Park Maintenance:
The dog park remains closed for maintenance. A temporary facility is available at Birthday Park, located southwest of the Balboa Dr and Riverview Dr intersection.
  • Rotary Park Sports Field Reseeding:
City Park Maintenance Crews are reseeding the sports fields at Rotary Park. The fields will appear yellow and brown as the process transitions from Bermuda grass to winter grass.
  • Optimum Community Center Parking Expansion:
The community center is closed as Perco Rock Company expands the parking lot, adding approximately 400 stalls. Construction is expected to continue for several months.
  • Bullhead Senior Enrichment Center Expansion:
T.R. Orr Inc. is expanding the center, adding 9,000 square feet, including 7,700 square feet of indoor space and 1,300 square feet of outdoor covered space. Completion is anticipated by November 2024.
  • Lift Station Rehabilitation:
A contractor will rehabilitate the 18-1 lift station near Highway 95 and Laughlin Ranch Blvd, with corrosion protection and system enhancements. This is the third lift station to undergo rehabilitation.
  • Water Line Repairs and Roadwork:
Bullhead City Utilities contractors will repair asphalt and concrete in areas affected by recent water line work.
  • Arizona Peace Trail ATV/UTV Parking Lot:
McCormick Construction is building a parking lot southeast of Bullhead Parkway and Silver Creek Rd to serve as a trailhead for the Arizona Peace Trail.
  • Bullhead Animal Resource Center Construction:
Precise Builders is remodeling the former Mohave Valley Daily News building into an expanded animal resource center. The facility, slated to open in summer 2025, will include a veterinary clinic, dog washing station, pet crematorium, and more.
  • Street Sweeping and Crack-Sealing:
City street crews will sweep streets and perform crack-sealing in Chaparral and Palo Verde Meadows neighborhoods in preparation for slurry treatments.
  • Sun Ridge Well Maintenance:
Bullhead City Utilities will replace a motor and pump for a well in the Sun Ridge neighborhood.
  • Asphalt Repair Near Rainbow Dr and Easy St:
Crews will begin paving during the week of October 14.
  • Sewer Line Cleaning:
Utilities crews will clean sewer lines along Country Club Dr, Lause Rd, and Rainbow Dr. Residents may notice temporary increases in odors in areas such as Palo Verde Meadows and the Mohave Crossroads Shopping Center.
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades:
Kay Constructors LLC will start work on new headworks and an aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant to enhance the city’s water reclamation efforts and protect infrastructure from foreign materials.

Important Reminders:

The City urges residents to dispose of only human waste, toilet paper, and greywater in the sewer system. Other waste materials can cause damage to the city’s infrastructure and should be disposed of properly.

Please exercise caution when driving through work zones and obey all posted signage and traffic control measures.
