Bullhead City Hosts Community Clean-Up Day on October 19, 2024

October 2024

October 2024

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – October 10, 2024— The City of Bullhead City, in collaboration with Mohave County, the Bullhead City Fire Department, Republic Services, and Nevada State Recycling, will host a community-wide recycling and waste disposal event on Saturday, October 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at two locations: Gary Keith Park (2345 Highway 95) and the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (1325 Alonas Way).

Residents of Mohave County are invited to bring electronics, aluminum cans, and bulky items to Gary Keith Park, while household hazardous waste, such as used tires, will be collected at the Motor Vehicle Division. This event offers the community a chance to responsibly dispose of electronics, hazardous waste, and bulky items that are not typically collected by regular waste services.

City Manager Toby Cotter emphasized the significance of this event:
“We love the idea of having one day a year that makes it easy for the community to dispose of difficult items correctly. This event helps keep our community clean and provides a way to dispose of hazardous materials that aren’t allowed in the trash. I encourage everyone to clean out their garages and take advantage of this opportunity.”

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, October 19, 2024
  • Time: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Locations:
    • Gary Keith Park (2345 Highway 95, Bullhead City, AZ)
    • Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (1325 Alonas Way, Bullhead City, AZ)

What You Can Recycle:

  • At Gary Keith Park: Electronics, aluminum cans, bulky items (such as furniture)
  • At the Motor Vehicle Division: Household hazardous waste, including aerosols, automotive fluids, tires, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, fertilizers, cleaners, paint products, pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, and more.

Commercial bulky items will not be accepted. However, residents of Bullhead City can arrange up to 6 bulky item pick-ups annually for free through Republic Services.

Aluminum cans collected at the event will benefit Live Love Barc, a local organization that funds a spay and neuter program through its recycling efforts.

Recycling Partners:

  • Nevada State Recycling will accept electronics, including any item with a power cord, which will be recycled at their facility in Las Vegas.
  • Mohave County Environmental Quality and the Bullhead City Fire Department will oversee the disposal of hazardous waste.

City Manager Cotter added:
“We’ll be open for 5 hours, so there’s plenty of time throughout the event to bring your items. The line is usually longest at the start, so we encourage people to come throughout the day to avoid traffic issues.”
