PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Superior Court confirms results for the July 30, 2024, Primary Election for United States Representative for Congressional District 3 between candidates Yassamin Ansari and Raquel Terán. With Ansari receiving 19,087 votes and Terán receiving 19,048 votes, the results remain reliable by a difference of three votes.
“With these results, we celebrate the precision of our process, and the promise that every voice is valued and every vote counts,” stated Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
The Secretary of State is responsible for ensuring that the electronic voting equipment to be used for the recount is available and properly programmed. The recount process verified the results, confirming a thirty-nine vote difference.
The recount, conducted electronically, replicated the initial count results, demonstrating the effectiveness of tabulating methodology used in Maricopa County informed by the 2023 Election Procedures Manual.
