OATMAN — January 27th, Oatman will host one of the quirkiest and most anticipated events of the year: the Oatman Bed Races.
Event Schedule and Highlights
Starting at 1:00 p.m., five-person teams will race beds through the town’s main drag at high speeds, showcasing athleticism and team coordination while dressed in pajamas. The event promises a day full of thrills, with festivities starting at 10:00 a.m. and running until 4:00 p.m.
Race Details
The competition consists of five-person teams—four pushers and one “sheet jockey” who rides the bed through the course. No wagering will be allowed, as the event is all about fun and spectacle.
Costumes and Prizes
Costumes and pajamas are encouraged, and there will be plenty of prizes and raffles throughout the day.

- Entry Fee: $50 per team (bed equipment provided).
- Sign-Up Time: 11:30 a.m.
- Race Start: 1:00 p.m.
- Team Requirements: Individuals 18 years or older.
Free Spectator Fun
Spectators can attend for free, though they are encouraged to enjoy the local shops, gunfights, and other entertainment available before and after the race.
Safety First
Officials will ensure that Oatman’s famous burros are cleared off the race course, guaranteeing a smooth and safe race.
