MOHAVE COUNTY – This month marks the 23rd celebration of the Economic Development Journal of Mohave County.
Back Story
A major presence throughout the Tri-State region for more than two decades, the Journal is the brainchild of publisher Thom McGraham, and his wife, Shirín, an author in her own right who serves as both editor and contributing writer. They are hardly new to founding a new publication and successfully operating it over a long period of time in the region.
Thomas founded and operated the weekly Bullhead City Bee newspaper in 1990 and the first issue came out in March of that year. The McGrahams discontinued that publication in 2016 and has continued to publish the Journal, which has been highly more profitable.
Readership
At one time, the Journal’s monthly readership eclipsed 120,000 until the advent of COVID – 19. As with other publications, the disease had an initial impact on the Journal’s readership; nevertheless, the Journal has rebounded and continues to enjoy a broad readership.
Reach
The Journal is widely read in Lake Havasu City, Kingman, Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, Needles, Calif., and Laughlin, Nev. It is distributed via attractive wire indoor racks and in front office lobbies of many hundreds of businesses in the above-named communities. Advertising rates are very affordable.
