A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a volunteer appointed by a judge to recommend the best possible outcome for an abused or neglected child. Whether this means helping to make a connection with adoptive parents or safely reuniting the child with parents or relatives, the ultimate goal of the CASA volunteer is to help ensure that every one of these children can live in a safe, permanent home.
Recruiting and training programs are now available in forty nine U.S. states. CASA volunteers also ensure that children don’t get forgotten in the excessive legalities or improper group home placements. Volunteers work closely on every case to find appropriate housing for the children. It is very common that a volunteer of Casa can become the most familiar adult in a child’s life.
The group has helped over 280,300 abused children find stable and permanent homes. Since every child in foster care cannot benefit from the services that Casa provides, volunteers are assigned to cases with the most severity. Casa Council Charity currently has volunteers in Lake Havasu, Laughlin, and Kingman. The Casa Council Charity Golf Tournament would not be what it is today without the support of these communities.
