March 2024

KINGMAN — Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s largest material handling companies, has announced plans to establish a new multi-use facility in Kingman, Arizona. This strategic expansion is designed to bring key operations closer to Crown customers, supporting retail operations and authorized dealers throughout the United States.

The new facility, located at 4200 N. Industrial Blvd, is set to accelerate the availability of forklifts, parts, and service customers need to keep their operations moving. Crown currently operates 24 manufacturing plants in 14 locations globally, and nearly 80 company-owned retail locations in the United States, with more than 500 retail locations worldwide.

The specific operations that will occupy the Kingman facility are still in development, but the company intends to have certain elements operational in 2024. This expansion is expected to create new job opportunities in the Kingman region, although the total number of positions to be filled is not yet determined.

Crown, recognized as a Military Friendly® Employer, appreciates and welcomes veterans and military spouses. The company is set to begin recruiting for the new Kingman facility soon. Crown is also currently seeking to fill more than 500 positions at its facilities throughout the United States.

The City of Kingman Economic Development Department has welcomed the expansion. Economic Development Director Bennett Bratley told the press,

“It was our pleasure working with them and Big Industrial through their initial phases of the site selection process. We are excited Crown Equipment Corporation has chosen the Kingman Industrial Park for its expansion. Their presence here will continue to advance Kingman’s flourishing manufacturing and distribution industries.”

To attract companies like Crown to the 4200 N. Industrial Boulevard facility, the City of Kingman’s economic development team collaborated closely with Big Industrial owners. They purchased 16 acres of City-owned land adjacent to the facility, providing Big Industrial with additional acreage for future expansion. This strategic move also better positioned the 640,000 sq. ft. facility for marketing to companies requiring more significant acreage sites.

Bratley further elaborated on the long-term planning that went into attracting Crown to Kingman.

“Economic development is a process where plans may take many years to develop. However, when the plan your team laid out a few years back comes together and contributes to the decision-making process for one of the world’s largest material-handling companies, selecting Kingman, it makes it all worthwhile,” he said.

Crown’s global headquarters is located in New Bremen, Ohio, USA, with regional headquarters in Australia, China, Germany, and Singapore. The company employs more than 18,100 people worldwide and operates a service and distribution network that exceeds 500 retail locations in over 80 countries.

The expansion of Crown into Kingman is a significant development for the local economy, promising new job opportunities and strengthening the area’s manufacturing and distribution industries. As the company continues to grow and expand, it remains committed to its reputation for award-winning product design, advanced engineering and technology, and superior after-sale service.

The arrival of Crown Equipment Corporation in Kingman is a testament to the city’s strategic economic development planning and its attractiveness to global companies. As Crown begins its operations in Kingman, the city looks forward to the economic growth and job opportunities this expansion will bring.
